The “Skills 4 Afrika” is an annual recruitment forum aims to highlight the critical issue of sought-after skills in order to transform the DRC’s potential into wealth for sustainable development.
Key activities we had during the forum included:
The 4th edition for skills4afrika took place in Kolwezi, the capital of the Lualaba province, on November 15 and 16, 2024, at Kampi Ya Boma.
The forum focuses on the problem related to the skills deficit within public and private enterprises and institutions in the country.
Its framework is marked by two fundamental axes: the return and recruitment of highly skilled diaspora as well as the retention of local talents through employment or entrepreneurship. In her speech, Miss Lorris Kassongo, the founder of skills4afrika emphasized the need to take actions to encourage the diaspora’s return to the country. She highlighted the experience and skills of these women and men acquired abroad as valuable assets for the development of the DRC. She stressed the importance of the diaspora’s contribution alongside the retention of talents.
L’Elite Agency is dedicated to developing talent and creating valuable connections between businesses and professionals. Skills4Afrika is an annual recruitment forum designed to identify, recruit and encourage the highly qualified Congolese diaspora to actively contribute to the emergence and growth of the DRC. The forum brings together a variety of companies that wish to invest in human capital and contribute to the growth of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This event also brings together industry experts, recruiters, migrant Congolese professionals, entrepreneurs and political actors, creating an environment conducive to exchanges, collaboration opportunities and the implementation of innovative solutions. We are delighted to announce that the Skills4Afrika program will take place in London from Wednesday 17 July 2025 to 19 July 2025.
“The AU has recognized the Diaspora community as the sixth region of the continent”
Skills4afrika event provides a unique platform for institutions to access internationally trained talent, connect with industry experts and explore opportunities to “promote and develop each sector the DR Congo” which fits perfectly with the President ‘s mission. We believe that the diaspora has a key role to play in the reconstruction and modernization of our country. This recruitment forum aims to combat the brain drain and mainly aims at the repatriation of Congolese nationals.
The forum’s initiator reminded everyone of the main objective: “to bridge the skills gap that hinders the country’s development.” The General Director of Elite Agency addressed the issue of unemployment in the DRC. She believes that the country should not face employment problems and pointed out the lack of local skills, human resource provisions, protection of local labor, and existing legal frameworks. She noted that there is a mismatch between the skills available and the needs of the market.
The African diaspora constitutes a pool of human capital and investment that can strongly contribute to the development of the continent, particularly in fragile states that have experienced a mass exodus of experts due to conflicts or economic difficulties. This brain drain which further weakens the capacity of countries can be slowed if steps are taken to improve governance in all aspects of social, economic and political life.

The mission for the recruitment summit is to provide a valuable resource to discuss and address the issue of brain & capital drain in Africa.
